Costway high chairs and Bamamon finger lights recalled
The CPSC announced both recalls on Oct. 22 over entrapment, fall and battery risks, and owners should stop using the products now.
Key points
- Costway is recalling about 3,332 convertible high chairs over entrapment and fall risks; owners get a free replacement.
- Bamamon is recalling about 6,533 LED finger-light toys because kids can open the battery compartments; owners get a refund.
- The CPSC says no injuries have been reported for either product.
Two products sold for children are being pulled from homes after federal safety officials found they break mandatory U.S. safety rules. The CPSC announced a Costway high chair recall on Oct. 22, 2026, and a separate recall of Bamamon LED finger-light toys the same day.
The two problems are very different. One involves a seat where a small child can get stuck or tumble out, and the other involves tiny batteries that kids can reach too easily. In both cases, the agency's advice is the same: stop using the product now.
Key facts
- Costway is recalling about 3,332 convertible high chairs that lack a passive restraint, according to the CPSC.
- The chairs were sold at Walmart, Target and Costway.com from May 2023 through July 2026.
- Bamamon is recalling about 6,533 LED projecting finger-light toys because their battery compartments open too easily.
- The finger lights were sold on Amazon.com from March 2025 through August 2026.
- The CPSC says no injuries have been reported for either recall.
The Costway high chair recall
The recalled Costway seats are convertible high chairs that turn into a small table-and-chair set, the CPSC said. They came in four colors, each paired with white: purple, red, blue or brown.
The problem is a missing passive restraint system. Without it, the agency warned that "a child can slip through the opening between the feeding tray and seat". That gap creates a risk that a child could become trapped or fall, the CPSC said.
The chairs sold for between $84 and $100. The recall notice says they were made in China and sold by Goplus Corporation, which does business as Costway, of Fontana, California. The recall number is 27-040.
There is no tracking information printed on the chairs, according to the agency. That means parents will need to go by the description: a Costway high chair that converts into a table-and-chair set.
The Bamamon finger-light recall
The Bamamon toys are small LED lights worn on a child's finger. The toys contain three button cell batteries, and the toys come 32 to a box in eight colors, the CPSC said.
The lights cast eight space-themed patterns, such as astronauts, rockets, UFOs, galaxies and solar systems. Those patterns appear on labels on the front of the package, which can help buyers spot the product.
The concern is that children can open the battery compartments without much effort, the agency said. The toys sold for about $13 to $14. They were made in China and sold by Shenzhen Maiduoduo Trading Technology Co., Ltd., which does business as Bamamon. The recall number is 27-042.
Background
Button cell batteries are a known danger for young children. The CPSC says that when kids swallow button cell or coin batteries, it can lead to serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.
The Bamamon recall notice says the toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because children can easily access the battery compartments. The Costway notice says the chairs fail the mandatory standard for high chairs.
What it means for you
These recalls matter most to families with babies, toddlers or young kids at home. You are affected if you bought a Costway convertible high chair at Walmart, at Target or on Costway.com between May 2023 and July 2026.
You are also affected if you bought Bamamon LED projecting finger lights on Amazon.com between March 2025 and August 2026.
The CPSC says no incidents or injuries have been reported so far. The agency still advises owners to stop using the products immediately.
Practical steps

- Stop using it right away, as the CPSC advises.
- Reach Costway by email at [email protected], or go to costway.com and click Recall, the agency said.
- Costway will ask for a receipt or a photo, then send a prepaid label so you can return the chair.
- After the company gets the recalled chair back, it will ship a free replacement high chair.
If you have the Bamamon finger lights:
- Take the toys away from children and stop using them, the CPSC says.
- Throw the toys away, then email a photo of them in the trash to [email protected] to get a refund.
- Dispose of the batteries under your local rules for hazardous waste, the agency advises.
Bamamon lists only an email contact for the recall.
What happens next
Costway's process ends with a free replacement chair after the return. Bamamon's process ends with a refund after proof of disposal.
